Yes. When carried out by a qualified dentist, tooth whitening is safe and effective. At Dover Priory Dental, we use UK-approved products and ensure treatments meet strict safety standards.

Is whitening better at the dentist than over-the-counter kits?

Yes. Dentist-supervised whitening is stronger, safer, and tailored to your teeth. Over-the-counter kits often deliver uneven results and may damage enamel if misused.

Can I whiten crowns, veneers, or fillings?

Tooth whitening only works on natural teeth. It does not change the colour of crowns, veneers, or fillings. We’ll assess your smile and recommend the best approach for a balanced result.

Does tooth whitening hurt?

Most patients experience little to no discomfort. Some may feel temporary tooth sensitivity, which usually settles within a few days. We provide advice to keep you comfortable throughout treatment.
